Westchester Emergency Medical Services provides
 First Response Paramedic Service,
Basic and Advanced Life Support Ambulances, and Dispatching Services
  in Westchester County, New York.

Available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, we specialize in
interfacility critical care transfers and routine medical transportation.

• Our Dispatch Center, known as Central Commmunication (CenCom), is staffed 24-hours a day by APCO trained Public Safety Dispatchers. CenCom is a secondary public service answering point (PSAP) for the Westchester 911 system and dispatches emergency fire and medical calls in the Somers Fire District. It is equipped with a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system capable of instantly recalling information on previous patients and simplifying call taking and tracking. In 2004, we completed deployment of a new radio system that utilizes Global Positioning System (GPS) to allow us to track in real time the location and status of resources and personnel, enabling us to send the closest appropriate unit to a call.
  

• We operate full-time paramedic response vehicles or "flycars" in Northern Westchester which provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) care to the municipalities of Bedford, Lewisboro, Mount Kisco, New Castle, North Castle, North Salem, Pound Ridge and Somers. Each flycar carries a full set of ALS equipment, is four wheel drive capable for off-road operations and inclement weather, and is equipped with state of the art GPS navigation equipment.
  

• All of our Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances are staffed by two (2) New York State certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). Our ambulances are equipped with patient moving devices, first aid supplies, splints, oxygen, suction, automated external defibrillators (AEDs), obstetrical kits, and electric inverters to supply power for specialty medical equipment.

• Our Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances are staffed by New York State certified Paramedics. In addition to BLS supplies, they are equipped with state of the art life saving equipment including 12-lead cardiac monitors with defibrillation and external pacemaker capabilities, intravenous medication transfusion pumps, pulse oximeters, ventilators, end tidal CO2 capnography, automated non-invasive blood pressure monitors and emergency medical/cardiac drugs.
